Its All About Rings...

Just a quick post to let you know I am still working hard on my designs, hence the lack of activity here :)

I have been working on a new bag, my fabric cuffs and fabric rings as well as having just celebrated my 6 year anniversary with Myles my finace.

I have been experimenting with my fabric flower addiction and decided to try them out as rings. I was pleasantly surprised at the results...     

Fabric Flowers

I cant stop myself making these cute little flowers. The more I make the better they seem to look (must be all the practice.

Once I've stopped myself for a few hours I plan to make a denim bag (from old jeans) and use these flowers to decorate it. I'll get it made and posted on here for all you lovely people to see.

Flower Power!

I am so happy this week as I have stumbled upon some amazing websites. I've started making flowers to adorn my bags and things! Thanks to http://www.coolmummy.co.uk/ and http://alittleofthis---alittleofthat.blogspot.com/  for your great tutorials.

 

I know the summer is almost over and winter is fast approaching. But that

dosn't mean we can't still enjoy the feel-good-factor of a lovely sunny flower on our bags or clothes.

Headband

A headband made from the legs of a pair of jeans.
It features a row of coloured buttons in yellow, green and grey.
It will fit most people and ties securely at the base of your head.

It is made from an upcycled mans work shirt in black and white check and a plain white shirt.
It features two purple glass buttons and is stiffened for use.

Baby Blanket in Blue

This blanket is already sold but I thought I would add it here so you can see what I can do.

It is a 9 block pattern, made from 3 upcycled shirts I found while thrifting (my favourite past time).

It is completely hand stitched ~ and has taken over a month to complete ~

It measures approx 75cm x 50cm.

As it is made from shirts (and fully washed before and after construction) it can be washed in a regular cool wash and air dried.

Pencil/Glasses case

A red and black stripe pencil case.
Featuring black buttons and poppers to close the case.
It is more than big enough for pens and pencils as well as accessories like erasers and sharpeners.

A pencil case custom made so not for sale.
It features a handmade pocket suitable for a pencil sharpener or eraser.
It is tubular in design and features cut out swirls on either end on and on the front, these have been left unhemmed to allow for some freying.
It closes with a strip of velcro/hook and eye.

A gift for my mum on her birthday

This is the notebook cover I made for my mum for her birthday.
It is made from upcycled blouses in lilac and black. It features 3 hand cut hearts with white button detail and a hand embroidered "mum" design.

It is for an A5 notebook.

Jeans Bags

These jeans bags are made from (you guessed it) 100% denim. I used only upcycled jeans and blouses to construct these bags. They feature a 9 block green design shoulder bag. A 2 tone bag, featuring original jeans pocket and a light blue jeans bag made entirely from the top of the jeans.

       

     

Two tone jeans bag. Using a light a dark contast design.

Features an oringinal jeans pocket on front perfect for phone, keys etc.
Lining is from an old blouse in blue and black stripe.
It measures 29cm in height, 27.5cm in width, with a handle of 69cm.
Made in my smoke free/pet free studio.

A light jeans bag. Made from the entire top half of the jeans. It is securely stitched all round and features all four of the original pockets which are all perfect for accessories like your mobile phone, keys, change, lip glass etc.
